December 2006 -- A couple months ago I added a few piano tracks to a new album by local singer/songwriter Christopher Henderson. The album, "The Legend of the Oglethorpe County Ghost Truck and Other Tall Tales," was just reviewed in the Flagpole. The reviewer (who shall remain nameless) complimented the "solid piano groove" on one track and "a gorgeous piano melody that drips with an emotive melancholy" on another. High praise in my mind, but he doesn't give me credit. Oh well. Read the review.
October 2006 -- It's been a while since the last NEWS entry. However, we were just written about as an ABC Pick in the Athens Flagpole. Check it out.
May 2006 -- I recently added some piano tracks to an EP, titled "On the Surface," by Athens singer/songwriter, Jason Beckham. Read the Review.
April 2006 -- Back in the studio this month to finish up a few tracks. The turnout for our show at Farm 255 was incredible -- due, in part, to the great press we got from The Red and Black and The Athens Banner Herald.
February 2006 -- Big News! Recording for the next CD is underway. Plans are for a full-length album with the whole band to be released this summer. We've had a couple of incredible sessions already, and I hope to have some preview tracks on myspace soon. More on this soon.
February 2006 -- It's official. The band name has finally been chosen: Bart King and the Fair Shakes. Thanks to everyone who gave their input. See you soon!

January 3, 2006 -- Bart will give a live radio interview on WUGA 91.7 and 97.9 on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 4 p.m. He'll be discussing the new band and performing several new songs. Tune in or listen on the web.
October 30, 2005 -- Big news! With the addition of Paul Cable on lead guitar, the core unit of the backing band is complete. Paul is a smokin' slide guitar player, and he'll be breaking out the dobro on a few of the bluesier tunes. Filling out the roster is Taylor Marsh on el. bass and Jason Cheek on drums. We have yet to settle on a name for these guys, so feel free to email suggestions. The debut show in Atlanta will be at The Red Light Cafe on Dec. 9 at 10:30 p.m. Athens show is still in the works. More soon.
June 8, 2005 -- Read what Bart wrote for 'On the Record Player,' as printed in the Athens Ban
ner Herald.
